The free boiler scheme was started in January 2013 to lower UK energy usage and provide payments to low-income households to help them enhance their home’s energy efficiency. The boiler schemes in Wolverhampton are part of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO). All the big companies like British Gas, E.ON, Npower and Scottish Power with the help of government schemes help you to save money, on your heating if you save to meet the scheme criteria. If you are eligible for the grants, the governments will provide funding towards a brand new, energy-efficient boiler. However, there are some additional qualifying criteria that you should know.

The most important one is that–the total household income amongst all working-age residents, must not exceed the requirements. However, this will vary, according to the number of people on the property and the type of benefits you received.

The property must be of a size to offer sufficient energy. Sometimes the carbon savings generated from upgrading the boiler are not significant enough to justify the funding required to cover such work. For more information about free insulation grants, you should visit the Warmfront.UK.
