  1. In theory, the answer is no. You are not required to have an attorney to register a business entity. However, whether or not it’s practical to set up a business based on the complexity of the business structure you’re going to choose, it might be useful to set up a business on your own. For example, if you intend to register yourself as the sole proprietor of a small business, you probably don’t need an attorney.

    For more complicated business structures, however, it’s much more practical to work alongside a business and acquisition attorney from a law firm like Chauvel & Glatt to make sure that a) your chosen business structure is indeed the best for what you have in mind and b) you’re filling all the necessary paperwork properly. The latter is important, as even if improper paperwork somehow gets approved by the court, errors in your business registration can still lead to problems down the line.
