  1. The first thing I always want to look out for when hiring a market research company is their relevance to my industry. The ultimate decider of whether or not a research company is worth it is its expertise. And most times, expertise is usually a function of relevancy and experience.

A market research company that has ample experience in your particular industry would be best suited to help identify unique entry opportunities for your brand.

Of course, that’s not to say that there aren’t research companies like Kadence USA that are large and organized enough to have expertise in a number of industries and niches. This is also a good thing, as long as you’re sure that they are no strangers to your business type.

Another quality I’m always on the lookout for is a proven track record of delivering quality research and insights. This is why the referral is always important. If I know that they’ve done it before for someone who recommended them, then I’m going into the partnership with more confidence.

In cases where there wasn’t a referral, sometimes the company’s track record speaks for itself. Check out their reviews, and the companies they’ve worked for, among others. This is always a good indicator.

Clear communication and transparency are other factors you want to optimize for. A market research company that’s able to work collaboratively with you and tell you clearly what they are up to is priceless!

Not only will this ensure that you’re always on the same page, but it will also facilitate enough flexibility so that if there’s a need to change something or adapt to a different reality, both parties already have a clear channel of communication and can make decisions before time runs out and opportunities are gone.
